You get a new psu because that one is bad and has a high chance to kill the pc, Also it does not have the connectors for the card.

depends on what psu are we talking about and also what processor do you have .
generally speaking if its seasonic , evga , corsair or some other reputable brand it should be fine
(but even then there are some exeptions) .

I have i5 2400 processor

what about the power supply ?
if you are not sure , just turn of your pc ,
unplug it from power , take of the side panel and take a look

If your PSU doesn't have the connectors to power your GPU, then I suggest that you get a new PSU that does. Adapters are never a good solution as they are not sized to provide the necessary amps for the GPU and are therefore a fire hazard.
