GTX 760 Upgrade to 970

I currently have a GTX 760 4gb video card but I want to upgrade to a GTX 970. I don't know if the upgrade is worth it but I'm also deciding whether to purchase a 144hz monitor instead. Should I upgrade to a 970 or buy a 144hz monitor. Is the 970 significantly better than my 760? (Superclocked with 4gb of vram)

And it is only worth buying a 144Hz if you first buy a very high GPU, because you need to play at 144 FPS or more to be worth it

I have an Nvidia GTX 760 in my desktop computer (GTX 750M in laptop), and I can tell you that there's no need to upgrade to a GTX 970 at the time being. Instead, you should wait until next year -- at that time, Nvidia will release their Pascal processor based line (up to 17 billion transistors, vs AMD's Fury which has 8.9 billion).
