Okay so i was going to buy a 7970 for my new build since it was priced reasonably, but the shop i was buying from unexpectedly raised the price by 50 euros.. so i thought i would get a Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Boost that comes with Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite for 298 euros. However now that the GTX 760 came out I'm having second thoughts. Its a little cheaper at 286 euros (price difference doesn't matter for me) and comes with the game Splinter Cell Blacklist.
All the benchmarks I've seen show mixed results. Some show that they are on par with the GTX 760 having the slight lead and some show that the 7950 has a lead. I want the 7950 for the games and extra v-ram, but is 3-gigs really necessary as i play on a 1080p monitor? Will 2gb suffice for 3 years or so? Also the GTX 760 I'm looking at is the MSI GTX 760 with Twin frozr as it would be a perfect match with my MSI Z87 G45.(The MSI Z87 G45 has a feature that if you use a MSI Twin frozr graphics card with it, it will boost up performance) Is Adaptive v-sync really that great? i don't care about physx so no need to talk about that. I have to choose because i will get it on Monday. Thank you.

get the gtx760, it's faster than a hd7950 and cheaper too. the 3gb Vram would be good but 2gb from the gtx760 would be enough for a single 1080p monitor. if possible get a hd7970 which is far better than both and is only 330$.(sapphire one)

+1 to GTX760. Faster and cheaper!

the gtx760 is also good for O.C ing but if u want to do such hard O.C ing then get the 7950 Boost edition. but i willsay get the gtx760 bcoz. by O.C ing the hd7950 u will reach to the performance level of the gtx760. or spend some more adn get the hd7970(330$)-best.

I have the xfx hd 7950 and the extra vram can play a role in the future. Also the bundled games are a petty good deal. Amd 79** cards also have pretty good crossfire performance/scaling.

I think just owning an amd card has made be a fan of amd. I have allways thought that with nvidia cards you get less performance for your money, 770, 780 and titan is quite expensive, but apparently the 760 is not.

well no doubt that a hd7950 si a good card but in crossfire they face micro stutter issues. the gtx760 would be better than the hd7950.
Moreover, the free games would not increase the performance of the gpu and the 2gb Vram for one monitor would be enough. :)
