GTX 770 2gb or 280X 3gb? Need lots of opinions!

I think tomshardware review 280x not too long ago, have you try searching?

They're very close except for the directcu ii which comes out ahead in this benchmark http://www.anandtech.com/show/7400/the-radeon-r9-280x-review-feat-asus-xfx/15 go for whatever is cheaper / has the games you want / has the features you want (physx, mantle, etc.)

What games do you want to play?
What is your current set up? please list CPU, motherboard, ram and power supply unit

Performance wise they are similar but at stock speeds the 770 is slightly faster but with the 280x you have more vram. It hurts to say as I only use Nvidia cards but the 280x is the better choice as it has the extra vram.

I would go with what ever one is cheaper, performance wise they are neck and neck.
