Well the i5 750 is definitely starting to show it's age in some of these newer titles, such as BF4, which chews up any and all processing threads you can throw at it. Newer games, such as BF4, won't be maxed out at a constant 60FPS by anything less than a 780 on the nVidia side, or an R9 290 on the AMD side. It really depends on budget, as it may be more effective to upgrade your mobo and CPU, and then wait a little to grab a new GPU.
Hi, I want to improve my gaming experience and i don't what buy, a gtx 770 a gtx 780 or a future gtx 770 ti.
I have a intel core i5 750, 700 w of power and one 1920x1080p screen.
I want to play on ultra in games.
Thank you for your help.
GTX 770 will allow you to run ultra settings in any currently released title.
Radeon R9 280X is similar from AMD.
You don't need 60 frames per second, average of 40 FPS is fine.
I don't find 40FPS enjoyable at all, but it is a matter of preference. I also find that lower framerates make it much harder to react quickly and aim accurately, compared to 60FPS.
GTX 770 is your best bet. 280X are overpriced and mostly out of stock. Ultra and at least 60fps in demanding games? Yes, unless the game is a douchebag like AC Black Flag or CoD Ghosts.
I think that i will get a i5 3470 socket 1155 that i have at home, and i will update my motherboard because is socket 1156.
Then i will get a 770 or 780 as soon as i can.
Don't buy the 3470 if you don't already own it, as it is outdated and has bad bang for buck. Plus, it can't be overclocked, which is a nice thing to have when a CPU gets older.
Oh yes, it will be a good upgrade, if you already have it. You will probably have to reinstall the OS when you switch out the motherboard + CPU, however.
