Hey all,

This is my first post here and I need a little assistance. I know this has been discussed 1000 times but… here we go. Here is the build I am making for my new PC.

CPU Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core $327.99
CPU Cooler Noctua NH-U14S 55.0 CFM $72.79
Motherboard Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 $199.99
Memory Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 $147.98
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 $147.98
Storage Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" SSD $177.99
Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM $144.91
Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 770 4GB $439.99
Case Corsair 600T Mesh (Black) ATX Mid Tower $139.99
Power Supply Corsair 850W ATX12V / EPS12V $202.06
Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $16.99

All I have left to buy is the PSU, mobo, cooler, and GPU.

My main issue is the GPU. Im set on a 770 but not sure to get either EVGA or gigabyte. I know they are both awesome brands Im leaning to gigabyte due to the slightly lower temps. The prices are a little off too. I can get the 2gb gigabyte card for close to 330 and the 4gb around 400.

So my main concern is 4gb or 2gb gigabyte 770. I will have 3 monitors set up but only will be running the games. I realize that not many games are breaking the 2gb VRAM barrier BUT I’ve seen BF4 break it and I’m thinking since I’m spending so much anyway, I don’t want any hangups. And yes, I want the highest possible visual settings I can get. I will be buying an ASUS VE248QE so I am kinda expecting a lot.

As of now I am not planning on sli later, but I guess ill cross that bridge whenever I get there.

I want to play games like BF4, Batman Origins, etc. Pretty much any game I want at that moment. And I do intend on overclocking everything I can.

Also im not too set on the AX850…just wan an 80 PLUS gold or platinum of at least 800W…ideas?

Feel free to critique my build. I was going to get a H100 or H100i for cooling but I am way to fearful of leaks. I have heard horror stories and I know (at least) EVGA will not cover all damages, only the cooler.

Thanks in advance guys!

At 2gb the gigabyte is way cheaper but at 4gb they are the same...hence the hard choice.

Am I wrong in thinking if a game like BF4 is pushing 2gb and on the other 2 monitors I'm streaming and web surfing...won't that begin to throttle?

And yes I do them at the same time.
