GTX 770, GTX 960 or the GTX 1060?

Okay I am writing this thread because my friend (who is very generous) selling his GTX 960 4GB to me for $60. I am currently running a GTX 770 2GB. I have read that the GTX 770 can be faster in certain situations. But I am lacking VRAM with the GTX 770. Should I ditch my 770 for a 960? Also, would it be more worth it to stick with my GTX 770 and wait to get a GTX 1060? Thanks for any replies!

Depends what you are playing. Although your friend is offering a good price for a GTX 960 4GB your GTX 770 certainly isn't worse enough to be worth spending $60 upgrading to a 960 despite the 4GB VRAM. Im my opinion, you should save up for a new card to get a good boost in performance worth the money. What are you trying to achieve atm? I'd say a RX 470 would be minimum to look at but a RX 480/GTX 1060 6GB would be ideal upgrades. Anything lower than an RX 470 wouldn't be a justifiable upgrade. Hope this helps

1080p 60 Hz High/Ultra > RX 480 8GB / GTX 1060 6GB
1080p 120/144 Hz Ultra > GTX 1070.

Thanks for the reply. I am planning to achieve running AAA titles at 1080p with high to ultra settings at around 50-60 fps so I will probably wait to get a 1060.

Do you actually play any games where you need 4gb vram AND the 960 is fast enough to provide the frame rates you want? Most benchmarks I've seen show the 960 4gb struggling in the newer graphic heavy games.

The 770 is perfectly fine, they perform very similarly anyway, not worth the $60.
