  • Clean install of windows 10
  • Have tried multiple nvidia game ready Gtx 770 drivers but screen will freeze intermittently and monitor goes black and comes back
  • No freezing when using basic display driver but bad fps in games of course
  • Updated motherboard drivers with no change

X570 asrock steel legend
Ryzen 5 3600
Gtx 770
700w psu
(yes I know it is bad gpu bottleneck I have another card on the way but would like to play until I get it)

Any ideas?

You might need to force PCIe 3.0 in the BIOS.

Other than that, sounds like a bad GPU. Does it work in any other system?

Also GTX770 is technically no longer receiving updates. The most recent game ready driver for it is just a security patch to an older driver. That happened about a year ago, so one option would be the track down the driver package from Oct 2021

The gpu works in the previous am3 motherboard system with an fx 6300
