Alright so I've been trying to decide the past few days between a 770, or an r9 290. For the 770 I'd probably get an EVGA SC 2 GB, and the R9 290 I have two thoughts, either the XFX Black Edition or MSI Gaming Edition. Prices are $370 for the EVGA, $420 for the XFX and $440 for the MSI. Heres my build
CPU: I7-3770K
Mobo: Asrock Extreme4 z77
RAM: 2X4GB G.skill Ripjaw X
Case: NZXT 410
PSU: Seasonic 750w 80+gold
Monitor: Samsung PLS LED 1080p Wide-view 23.6"

I want high frames in all games with max settings, and I'll eventually in 3-4 years upgrade to a 4K display or maybe multi-monitors with the 1080p, which is why I'm leaning towards the R9 290, because of the extra power/vram. Thoughts? Is the extra $50 or $70 worth the increase in power or is the EVGA the better route due to better customer support/reliability.

In your case of the high resolutions, definitely go with the 290. I would go with the EVGA as I'm not sure the extra 50-70 dollars is justifiable, plus, customer support is always nice.

I mean for me personally I can get that $50 easy, I'm just worried that the card won't work when I get it as far as the XFX side and I'll have to RMA it. From what I've read XFX support is only bad via email and their phone support is just as good as it used to be, plus you'd assume a lifetime warranty means that they believe it's a solid product. Too many decisions to make gah

If you you are willing to spend that much more, I would get the MSI as it's cooling is very good. MSI isn't known for good support though.. Could you post links to these cards?
