As my 4 year-old mobo has died, I'm upgrading my system.
I got a 4670k/gigabtyte z87-udh4, and I'm using my old corsair 650tx power supply. My current gpu is an ati 6870. I've been running ati gpus for a while, but I'm a little tired of issues with drivers.
Anyway, I'm looking to get a new gpu on the 770/7970 tier with a flexible $400 budget. I currently only use 1080p, but I'd probably get a 1440p monitor with an sli/crossfire setup before I upgrade a single gpu card. I'll have to get a new power supply too, I imagine.
Currently, I'm looking at maybe an asus/msi 770 as the most likely option. I don't think a windforce gigabyte will fit in my case.
I'm wondering if it's worth it going for the 770, buying a 7970, or waiting to buy a next gen ati card. I'm pretty patient, considering my current card is able to run most games pretty well at my current 1080p. I'll also be overclocking my cpu/gpu as much as I realistically can without exotic cooling solutions.
