gtx 770, r9 280x or 7970

Hello everyone,

Im looking for a new videocard but i dont know which one to pick :s
I know that the 3 cards are almost the same but i want the best i can get. In my country (netherlands) i can get the videocards for the next prices:
MSI gtx 770 = €265,-
Sapphire r9 280x dual-x = €259,-
XFX radeon hd 7970 = €230,-
(These are the cheapest prices)

I want to play the new games (bf4, gta v, watch dogs etc.) With ultra resolutions. What videocard is the best for me?

Other suggestions are welcome, budget 300-350 euros

If I were you, I would get the gtx 770, from what I've seen you will get the most performance with that card over the other 2. The only disadvantage is the 2gb of memory vs 3gb from the AMD cards, however I doubt you will lose much if any performance because of this unless you plan on running a tri monitor setup. If that is the case I suggest the r9 280x.

I ccn get the gtx 770 4gb msi for 330 euros. But i dont know if thats worth the extra 70 euros

Out of those 3, the 770 is the best performer. The 7970 isn't a slouch, and neither is the 280x since it's the same card. With the 35 euro difference, I'd give the nod to the 7970, however, if the price isn't a bother, get the 770.

So do you plan on using a tri monitor setup? if no get the 770, it's a beast. If you do, get the r9 280x. Either way you can't really go wrong because they are great cards. I run a 7950 myself and love it, I can max out just about any game out there with the exception of games with physx (i.e. metro last light, or any batman games). The big thing that I suggest is that you at least go with one of the newer gen cards.

Yeah that's what i thought. That's not worth the extra 70 euros, right?

there is no other card in that price range really. with mantle coming around the corner and more and more devs jumping on the bandwagon, that 7970/280x might turn out to be the better gpu in the long run anyway.

I don't think the 770 is worth the price difference over a higher clocked(1ghz and above) 7970. If you want better performance and are willing to pay more, just get the 780 which is about 485 for a higher clocked/better cooled version.
