Hi all,

I want to SLI my GTX 770's, Each GTX 770 requires a 6 pin PCIE and an 8 pin PCIE . I've heard the 6 pin to 8 pin PCIE cables are dangerous. My Antec Truepower Quattro 850w has four 6 pin slots available. 1 card is already in and working fine.

I would like to know if its safe to use the 2x 4 pin Molex to 8 pin PCIE that came with the GPU.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

thanks

yeah its 850 w about 4 years old now but running fine still. Can you guys tell me what you make of this?

i just don't want to blow up my PC or burn my house down :/

For a system using two GeForce GTX 770 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 850 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 58 Amps or greater and that has at least two 6-pin and two 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The Antec TruePower Quattro Series 850W (TPQ-850) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 64 Amps and with two 6-pin and two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is to power your system configuration with two GeForce GTX 770 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode.

I have the exact same PSU Antec Quattro 850w (that black one with 2 yellow stripes). This PSU is semi modular.
It has 2x 6pins and 2x 6+2 pins for the graphic card. I used to have ATi HD2900XT and that requires a 6pin and 6+2pin connector.
Did you loose them cables or something?
