Hello. I am planning on building a new Gaming PC, and I want to add 2 Nvidia GTX 770s (2GB version) in SLI. My question is: would adding a second GPU (in SLI) make a big difference? I know I should get twice the performance, but will I?

here is some extra info about the parts...
- My selected motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130768) has 2 PCI-E x16 slots
- My GPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741) is the same brand and should work best with the board.

Solution
You won't get twice the performance but it will get close, depending on your settings, what game you're playing, how many monitors you're running and at what resolution. At 1080P on unigine heaven benchmark, I get about a 90% improvement.

Solution
No you wont get exactly "twice" the performance, but you will be faster than a 780ti. You will need more power and you will run significantly hotter than with a single gpu. I personally would run with a single 780ti instead of SLI cards, also same brand of mobo and GPU makes zero difference, other than that the color scheme may be similar, them working "best" together is nonsense apart from aesthetics.

What are you talking about? Cards that look alike run WAAYYY faster. :)
