GTX 770 to GTX 1060 6GB, close to no improvements.

Hey guys,

This is my first post on this site. I recently decided to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 770 to a GTX 1060 6GB. I did this in hope of seeing improvements in a game called H1Z1 - King of the Kill. Sadly, I don't really feel like the new GPU has improved my FPS. I must admit that it sometimes feel better, but I still have 70-90 FPS (same as when I had GTX 770 in my PC) in cities and sometimes even in battles on the field. I'm not quite sure whether it's just not a big enough upgrade in order to see drastic improvements, or if I've done something wrong/can do something in order to get better FPS.

I also bought a SSD, which I installed a fresh windows 10 on. I had my old graphics card in my PC when I did the fresh installation, but I'm pretty sure no old drivers where left on the PC. I've installed the new drivers for my GPU, I've changed several settings in both NVIDIA Control Panel and on windows in general, and I've made the very same useroptions in - H1Z1 - King of the Kill -as I had on my PC before the upgrade.

Old drivers may still be there. I would recommend you run DDU to successfully do a clean removal. What kind of improvements were you expecting? Are you playing on the highest settings in the game?

I were expecting a decent improvement FPS-wise, and I play everything on the lowest setting possible. Thanks for your answer, I'll try to run DDU and clean it up!

how about improvement in other games? it could be CPU that actually become your bottleneck. or even the game engine itself.

Absolutely CPU limitation there

H1z1 has always been poorly optimised , seen better CPU's down below 50fps at points.

That game is early access, games in that stage of development won't always benefit from upgrades. You're essentially upgrading to try to get more performance out of an unfinished game.
