I ran an EVGA 770 non SC for awhile.

Here's a a Valley run, the cpu was at stock too.

I'm at a loss on why it's performing below par at stock....Do you have any suggestions?

OKay, got those scores. Here it is -

Also, I'm not sure if the 'achievement' I got is hinting at something or not. It says my CPU doesn't want to play. Which doesn't really make sense as I got a lower score in Valley than someone with an i5 2500k.

I have my CPU at 4.0 GHz right now, should I go higher? I would need a good cooler first though :/

Your physics score is a bit low (cpu). For example at stock clocks I get around ~11k score for physics. Your 2600k at stock should yield around 9k. The cpu is underperforming a bit, maybe due to unstalbe overclock. What I would do is return your cpu to stock, and redo the test at stock clocks. Your overclock might be causing issues. Clear cmos and return to stock, and rerun the tests.

As evidenced by that achievement, something is holding back your cpu, I don't know what though.

Okay, well I'm glad we're narrowing it down here and I appreciate your help. I will go ahead and do that now. However, I'm not sure how to clear CMOS. Is that just resetting BIOS to default or does it require something else?

EDIT: Just looked it up. I will go ahead and do that now.

Yeah that's basically it, either return to default in bios, or by clearing cmos. For example on my board clearing cmos requires jumper being moved from 1-2 to 2-3 position for at least 10 sec. while the computer is off and power cable unplugged. Some boards have clear cmos button.

Ok, I've done all of that and got about 1,000 more physics score. Along with that, that achievement went away!

However, I am still lower than others as you can see here -

That is stock though. When I apply my OC settings to my GPU that goes up a lot. What do you think now? Does everything look okay?

AND GUESS WHAT! You see my original Valley score of 1717? I now get 1946 stock! I think you fixed my problem man!!

Yeah, that's better the physics score is more or less on par with other stock 2600k's.

1946 in Valley is pretty similar to my 4770k/770, I think you're good now.

Remember those other scores in Firestrike will be higher as they're running overclock on both cpu and gpu most likely.

Just by looking at your score @stock you're good in firestrike. Your gpu score is good and it looks as though your cpu (physics) score is fine.

Thank you so much for the help man! I really do appreciate it.
