Hi Guys,

I just build a new pc and the only thing I need to add is a GPU. My budget is about 200 bucks so I was looking at the following:

- 2nd hand (good condition) GTX 770 or the new
- GTX 950

I rather buy a new card because of warranty but if the 770 gtx is better for both I could take the risk.

Please help me to decide, if there is an other cards that I should go with let me know as well, thanks!

My build: 6700k, GA-170xp-SLI - 16GB DDR4, SSD and a 1440p + 1154p monitor.

I read a lot of reviews and most are about the gaming compatibility as these are gaming cards. Most reviews say the gtx 960 is not worth the extra money compared to the 950. Almost non of the reviews look at editing performance. Gaming wise, I understand that both cards are not capable of running my full resolution. I am ok with that, 1080p Medium is fine too.

The used 770 will be much better, assuming your PSU can power it ok.

It's interesting to see people say they can't run their games at full 1080p with the GTX 950. What systems are you guys using? I run full 1080p with my 950 and get an average of 79+ fps and sometimes even higher. My system specs are medium. 16 gigs ram and i5 2300 non (k). The games I play are Starwars Battlefront, Battlefield 4 multiplayer and Black Ops III.

I agree, I have 8gb of RAM, core i5 2300(non k) and a MSI GTX 950, I have no problem playing 1080p games at high settings w/ v-sync, and I still don't dip below my panel's 75hz refresh rate.
