Hi,

My friend want's to build a pc and he was wondering what graphic card is the best at around the £200 price range (246.271 EUR, 334.897 USD) for a gaming build. I recommended him the GTX 770 but he claimed that the R9 280x has more ram and he is making a good point. I was also considering the HD 7790 but I am unsure since graphics cards aren't really my expertise. It would be really helpful if anyone recommended a good card at that price range. (Also when you are recommending a card please note the edition. ie. EVGA GTX 770.

Best Regards and Thanks for reading :)

The 280x is slower in almost anything vs the 770. Though they are actually pretty similar. The only time you would see the 280x be more is in cases where you are running really high resolutions or have some sort of texture setting in a game that uses more than the 2GB of the 770. The vast majority of games don't really use all that much more than 1GB anyway.

In cases where you were running at a high enough resolution where the extra GB matters you would probably want to be running multiple cards anyway. If it's just 1080p or even 1440p then the 2GB should be fine.
