GTX 780 6gb or GTX 780ti 3gb?

Building a gaming desktop in september. Everything is set and now I'm considering the two video cards

GTX 780ti 3gb

I was initially going to get the 780ti, but now I'm reading things that suggest games will start to need much more vram soon, even at 1080p (which is what I plan to game at).

Please give any input on this because I dont want to drop the cash on a 780ti and then it be restricted by vram in a few years.

The 780 Ti! You wont need more than 3Gb for 1080p, unless the game is badly mad.

780ti without a doubt! Youll *rarely* use more than 3BG at 1920x1080.

Varies by game, but modded ultra crysis (Rygel HR+Blackfire) max AA at 2560x1440 doesnt go over 2GB for me.

i would get the 780ti, you will be good for the next couple generations of GPU’s before you need to think about upgrading or adding a second card playing at 1080p, for a couple years. Having said that, if you are gaming on a 60hz monitor at 1080p the 780ti is overkill IMO. if you go with the 780ti and can afford it look into the ASUS VG248QE 144hz monitor ($269 on newegg) and get the most out of the 780ti.
