Hello there :)

My System:
Asrock 970 Extreme 3v2
AMD FX 6300
8gb DDR3 1600
550w Be Quiet System Power 80+(6 years old.. i will propably replace it the next few days)
1366x768 Monitor

Yesterday i upgraded my GTX 660 to a GTX 780.
I deinstalled(in device Manager)the old drivers and reinstalled the new.
I checked that in the Nvidia System Settings it says "Maximum Performance Preffered"

With my GTX 660 i got around 35-40fps in Games like Witcher 3 and Watch dogs on High Settings.(mind my Monitor Resolution) and a Passmark Score of 4150
Now i expected a huge jump in both Benchmarks and in Game Performance.

So far it didnt quite happen. I get a Passmark Score of 6100 while others with the GTX 780 get 8000+
And i get around 40-55fps in both Games in a Mix between High and Ultra
I have to say i expected 65-70 FPS at Ultra with the GTX 780 in 1366x768

Over at a German Forum(I'm German, so please excuse the English) they first suspected it was my CPU bottlenecking. on their advice i made some Screenshots but they show that the CPU is at around 60-70% while the GPU is at 90-99%

here are the Screenshots i mentioned:

I hope some of you have some Ideas left.

at such low resolutions the cpu becomes what determines fps, the gpu has been completely superseded as the limiting factor

looking at benchmarks on the 6300 in that particular game, you seem to be right where you should be

you would need a 8350 @ 4.7 ghz ( 9590 ) to maintain steady above 60 fps

do you monitor cpu temps?

Agree. And don't forget, cpu usage is usually average. You may be maxing one or two cores in more single threaded games. Witcher is not very CPU boubd, but I have seen 80% on a single core of my oc'd i5, which is a lot more powerful than a single core or the fx6.
