Hey guys, I'm looking to build my first computer very soon. I am building a pretty monstrous PC, but one of the things that I just cannot decide on is the graphics card. I have narrowed my decision down to either the GTX 780 or the GTX 780 Ti. I Plan on using this computer for gaming at 1080p on a single monitor. I do not see myself going to any higher resolutions anytime soon. I will also use the PC for video editing, 3d modeling, and some graphic design. Which Card do you guys think would be best for my needs? I don't want to spend $200 more on the 780 Ti if it wouldn't really make much of a difference, but I worry that I will be unhappy with the 780's performance in some games. Let me know what you guys think!

I stopped reading there.

Bro, the 780 is all types of overkill at 1080p... a 770, 760 or 660ti are all good enough at that resolution. As is the 7950 and 7970/r9-280x.

no need to drop 700+ on a video card, when 300 is more then enough. That said, you might have to turn a few settings down on the 7950/760/660ti on the HARDEST most graphically intense games.... that said they all should hit 60FPS without too...
If you are able to buy a GTX 780, money is obviously not an issue so go with the Ti!

That being said, you won't see much of a single monitor difference right now on the 780/780Ti vs. say a GTX 760 2GB card and you can buy one of those for $200.00 USD

Hell my 7770 hits 60fps in pretty much every game at 1080p without too much tinkering.

The real reason to get a 780/780ti or r9-290/290x is for multiple monitors or gaming at or higher res then 4k.

I'm in a similar situation...I'm about to sell my 770 and get a 780. I too am on the fence about a 780 or 780ti, but what I'm going to do is buy an EVGA 780 and it will give me 90 days to use their 'step-up' program to upgrade (for the difference in cost) to a 780ti in case I need more power, or if prices drop within the 90 days.
