GTX 780 or GTX 980?

I recently built a pc and have been holding off on buying a graphics card because I knew the GTX 900 series was right around the corner. Now with it being released I'm wondering if I should get the GTX 980 or just get the GTX 780 since I can get it for $314 via Newegg w/ MIR? Is the 980 really worth ~$240 extra?

The gtx 970 and 980 beats the 780. You chose which one. I would get the gtx 970 on a tight budget or the 980 is the way to go.
