Hi I'm planning on getting a new card and i'm upgrading from a gtx 470.

Wich of these two cards is the best for the price? In my country the 780 sells for $680 and the r9 290x for $740.

Here is an link to Gpuboss : http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-290X-vs-GeForce-GTX-780

But i'm still lost because poeple still say the R9 290x is better and I am aware of it's 512-bit interface, higher clock speeds and more memory.

my current rig:
850w psu
i7 2600k @ 4.5 GHz
8gb RAm @ 2100Mhz
Gigabyte ud7 Motherboard

I'm only gaming on 1080p :) Thanks alot guys.

If the 780 is cheaper, I'd probably go with that. 780 uses less power, runs less hot, is less noisy, comes with shadow play and physX, and should be more than enough for 1080p. If you ever do want to crank up the AA and AS on 1440p or higher the 290x will scale better, but at that point you might drop below 60 frames anyways. The 290x also comes with a few more free games or something...

I'd just get what's cheapest, considering either of them is a huge improvement from a 470.
