GTX 780 SLI option doesnt show in nvidia control panel

I recently bought another gtx 780 for my pc to run in SLI but atm its not working
I have GTX 780 ACX SC + GTX 780 SC no ACX
they both have same speeds and things the only difference is the cooler addition
i have them installed right now and both do work, my computers reads both 780 cards and i have the SLI bridge connected. The SLI option still doesnt appear on the control panel. My mother board is the maximus Formula V and it supports duo graphics. My Powersupply is 1000w. so im not sure what the problem is any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think in Nvidia's side you need the exact same cards to SLI .

Make sure they're locked into their pcie slots on a sli compatible mobo and that the sli bridge is connected properly.

Then set sli up in nVidia Control Panel - enable 3D

The motherboard is sli compatible , Maybe it has only two pcie that you can SLI onto .

What PCIe slots are you using for the SLI , try and make them the two nearest to the CPU.

So slot 1 and 2 would get x8 each. So should be fine.

That's what I thought , thats why I recommended the slot 1,2 .

My PSU is Seasonic 1000w platinum
and the sli bridge is all in.

If the card isn't recognized at all when in the second slot, that suggests the screenshots you've supplied are with the cards in the first and third x16 slots, right?

If they are in the first and third slot, that would certainly explain why you can't activate SLI; according to the manual, the third x16 slot runs at x4 mode at most (regardless of what other x16 slots are occupied), and per nVidia's official rules, you need a minimum of x8 lanes per graphics card for SLI.

I'm not sure if Rookie is 100% right, but I'd be putting them in the x8 and x8 slots anyway.

If slot 2 doesn't work, then try cleaning it and try again.

So when i install the card into the 2nd slot would i need to unistall my previous graphics card driver?
do i need to remove both cards too then reinstall them?
