GTX 780 SLI or single GTX 780Ti? (Got a deal for same price tag for both options!!)

Hi guys! I know this question has been asked many times but my situation is a bit different: I can get 2 780's for the price of a single 780Ti! Yes, there is a crazy deal like this in where I live right now! So should I just get a pair of 780s or get the 780Ti? I'm currently running a 1080p 120Hz monitor but I'm planning to upgrade to the upcoming 1440p 144Hz monitors. Also I often game on 3D Vision so I need all the power I can get.

If you think I should get the SLI 780s, which non-reference card should I go wıth? I'm currently leaning towards the Asus DC2OC but all of your advices are welcome of course. Would the reference cards be a better choice for SLI?

SLI can be a headache but if you can get 2 gtx 780s for same price and your motherboard supports SLI then why not.

Personally, I've been a hardcore EVGA user since like forever. Their quality and support is unbeatable and haven't changed much over the years. Which EVGA models are available where you live? Perhaps I can lend an eye. 😉

Thanks you for your reply, all of the EVGA models are available here but they just started selling them here a month ago.. So unfortunately there is a big difference between EVGA cards and other brands.

Just take the two SLI 780s, and go with the Asus one if it floats your boat I personally have never seen any difference between them performance wise until OC, vRAM, and different cooling come into play. Unless the other brands have liquid nitrogen cooling, you should be fine

Btw, I have an Asus Maximus V Formula which supports 2-Way SLI afaik.

i7 2600k wouldn't bottleneck this setup, right? I am currently running it on 4.5Ghz stable.

no an i7 is plenty powerful for SLI. 4.5GHz is a good clock speed.

My case is a Corsair Obsidian 550D and the ventilation setup is as follows: 2 120mm intakes on the front, 1 120mm intake on the bottom next to the PSU, and one 140mm exhaust on the back. No side or top fans.

you have quite a lot of intakes 😛

Reference cards are fine. The difference is basically:
Reference cards spew heat out the back. This means the GPU will run hotter but the other components in the case will run cooler.
Aftermarket coolers do the opposite. They spew heat into the case, which makes the GPU cooler but raises the internal temperature of the rest of the components.

While reading I've stumbled upon another issue.. lol. I've read that gpu hungry games like Watch Dogs exceeds 3GB vram usage on Ultra 1080p and causes an impact on 3GB GPUs. If this is the case, then my investment would be a terrible one.. 6GB versions here are around %35 more expensive than 3GB versions.. Why do I always get so confused when upgrading GPUs... lol.

idk. it should run just fine without problems. Ubi released some patches that optimized the game better.
