GTX 780 Ti PSU Question

Hi

I just got a killer deal in New Zealand on a used GTX 780 Ti. Got it for $450. I am wondering if it is really necessary to have a 600W Power supply and do you really need 42 amps on the +12 volt rail?

I have an i5 4440, 2 hard drives and my PSU is a Raidmax Cobra 500W.

You'll need a new psu. Raidmax psus are very poor and could fry the new card and everything else in b the system. You could use a good quality 550w psu from Seasonic, xfx, antec, Superflower or evga (gs or g2).

Yes the 12v rail amps are important as is the build quality. Looking at pcpartpicker this is the cheapest unit I would use.
