Gtx 780 vs 2-Way Gtx 770 4gb SLI on 1440p

Need help deciding which way to go, in the future I would like to add another card and im a somewhat limited budget at the moment. Would it be better to go with one 780 or 2 way 770 4gbs. Currently I will be gaming on 1080 but the next thing to get is 2 1440 monitors.

without knowing the full capability of nvidias flagship maxwell silicon, neither are a good investment right now. if the flagship gaming card is 15% faster than the 780ti, then sli 770s are going to be the same speed for much more heat, power consumption, and inherent sli issues.

we don't know yet. some rumors say the 980ti may come at a $600 price point, which would put it at roughly the price of two 770s with similar performance.
