I'm buying a gaming computer and I need to choose between one that comes with GTX 780 and other that comes with AMD r9 290 with the ones that comes with the GTX 780 being U$ 120,00 more expensive.

I know from reviews that the r9 290 is a little bit better then the GTX 780, but, we all know about the fan volume and heating problem on them, and, considering that I actually live in one of the hottest cities in Brasil (about 35C medium that can go up to 40C), I'm really afraid that the r9 290 will not respond very well to my house temperature and the fan speed will need to go even louder in order to maintain the 95C of the card.

Knowing that I play on a 42' 1080p tv, which card should I get?

That sounds pretty fishy... that's what this thread is for right? Don't PM him.

Don't get a reference R9 290, a prebuilt gaming system with a 780 will be what you're looking for as far as temperature and fan noise goes.

If there's a gaming computer with a non reference R9 290 (The ones with 2-3 fans on them and not the ones with 1 fan on them) then get it over the 780, as non reference R9 290s are significantly cooler and quieter cards than the reference, are much more stable, and can be overclocked more.

I don't think there will be a pre-built gaming rig with a non reference R9 290 though, so your best bet is a 780 is...

Linking the actual computers you're planning on purchasing will help us a lot though, there's a lot more to picking the right PC than just the graphics card.

Yep, the 4670 is a solid CPU (I have it and I love it), but note that since it's a 4670 and not the 4670k it can't be overclocked if you were to ever want to do that.

I can't vouch for the PSU, some brands are better, but 600W is enough to power a 780, so you should be fine.
