Which card is better? i will be playing games like maybe minecraft and TONS of skyrim,bf4 and Crysis 3. I know that the gtx 780ti is more expensive but much quieter. I will need a good card for also overclocking but i mainly want more fps :)

Solution
much quieter from reference 290x, yes but not much with custom ones..

In performance 780ti better than 290x but also came with premium price...

there also, right now 290x is in low avail and has increased price.. the custom ones also not avail yet..
so choosing 290x is out of option except u willing to wait...
If budget is not any problem then gtx 780ti will be better choice. Speaking of noise, Sapphire has revealed it's new r9 290 and r9 290x with after market coolers and their noise is even low than hd 7970 ghz ed. So if you wan't to save some money then get sapphire tri-x r9 290 or 290x oc edition over gtx 780ti. But you may have to wait for it for a while to be easily available.

Well the gtx 780ti has an after market cooler which is called the atx cooling i think, with the r9 290x i would have to put a water cooler on it, so cooling isn't an issue all i want is pure performance and over clocking ability

from the review i saw, the 780ti is more powerful. (with air cooled 290x)

for water cooled 290x performance, i don't know much...
most of wc 290x post, they info the clock they can achieve (& custom bios) but not much info about actual fps gain

maybe someone with wc 290x can share....
(I'm also thinking going to 290 wc setup myself)

THE 780ti IS HANDS DOWN BETTER THAN THE 290x. There is not really any beating around the bush. That is the way it is. Any garden vegetable can run Minecraft, so don't worry about FPS in that. As for Bioshock, it is a very low intensive game on your GPU, most mid-range GPUs can output 60+fps on ultra in 1080p. BF4 is a little rougher but still not bad. Either card will get you way more frames than you need in 1080p And both perform very well in 1440p as well, 60+fps.

Right now the 780ti is the best single GPU on the market. But in a year, who knows! Technology advances so fast in computing. A year from now it is very likely there will be a stronger card. But that is just how it works. Buying a a top of the line GPU right now doesn't ensure it will be the best a year from now. I will say that the 780ti will be very strong and relevant for quite a while, though.

I doubt it will drop price. (we already at late dec 2013),

Going with nvidia usual strategy there unlikely major price drop for couple of month..
exception : if amd somehow can get out new more powerful card than 290x (this also very unlikely)
