Hi.. further to my previous thread it is apparent to run three monitors I need a new GPU. SO I have looked at the 750ti and watched some vids finding if I ever want to try almost 5/6,000 pixel width I need at least a 950 or 960. I can't afford anything more expensive.

Currently I am running a 550ti dual screens but I want to suss out the screens and leads at the same time.

I have two Acer monitors, one is a x223w and the other is x233h and both can only have VGA leads. Looking at some 960s today I see I can get double DVI and other outputs on the same card but one DVI is different to the other.

Of course with this setup 1080p is not happening but I'm unsure of what screen and lead I need to set up a third monitor and whats going on with the DVI sockets and if that limits one or more screens I have now as I say they are both VGA only.

DVI-D and DVI-I connectors come in single link and dual link formats. Dual link DVI has more pins and allows for a higher resolution and faster refresh rates. Single link can display up to 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz and dual link can display up to 3840x2400 @ 41 Hz.

DVI-D is 100% digital and is not compatible with VGA. VGA is only compatible with DVI-A or DVI-I devices.

you can get this for dvi d to vga adapter http://www.amazon.com/gofanco%C2%AE-DVI-D-VGA-Active-Converter/dp/B00RWFT8NG

you can get this to adapter to your monitor http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Gold-Plated-DisplayPort/dp/B005RISB3S

Ok, so I need a DVD-D adapter which is fine, what about the third monitor ? I have nothing in that regard yet but I see the GPU has two different outputs aside from the DVIs

Thanks for such speedy replies guys

Ok, I have seen I can just purchase a DVI-d VGA adapter on ebay for £2 so I think I will do that.. really sketchy on this third monitor though. I can see various HDMI options for a monitor at a good price but not spotted a display port version (new stuff to me that is) and am concerned about something I read about HDMI sharing DVI-D internals on the GPU. I guess that third monitor issue is the only problem now then.

Hi ffg7, it's a OCZ CoreXstream 500W which I doubt is good enough for SLI even on a 550ti if that is what you may be thinking of. Got me wondering if it's good enough for a 960 or not though.
