Gtx 950 more fps than 7950!?

8gb ram
600w thermaltake tough power
7950/gtx 950

Hey guys for some weird reason my 7950 lags out dota 2and gets lower fps than the gtx950. Thats the only game ive tried with the two cards. Even with no gpu the game runs smoother without 7950 just low fps(but still higher fps vs with7950 10fps)
The cpu usage when i have the 7950 on shoots up to 90-100 percent. I know athlin x3 425 is a hottleneck for 7950 but the card worstens the performance. is this normal?

I used to have the 7950 on my i74790 rig with no problems.

Lately Nvidia cards tend to do better at lower resolutions then AMD cards.

It sounds more like you are having power issues or the 7950 is going out.

If that is a Thermaltake TR2 they don't have the best reputation for longevity. How old is it?

Consider uninstall and re-installing your video card drivers.
Also tune your OS so it makes minimal demands. There are a lot of tutorials out there for this for every version of Windows. Making your windows ugly, and making sure you don't have a ton of back ground apps running will really help out your CPU.

well on my main rig the 7950 does a lot better. so i dont think its the card.

i have windows 10 on it btw. and never really tried installing drivers because it did it automatically. the cpu usage is sadly 90-100 percent the game that was running not the background apps xD. but ill try installing the drivers .
