i recently bought a ASUS STRIX GTX 960 2 GB DDR5. whenever i play a game temp is always above 60 (Degree Celsius).
In GTA 5 (Texture at high) temp goes upto 68. why so high temperatures ?
i used MSI Afterburner and HWMonitor.
also my CPU temp is always less than 52 no matter how high graphics game i play.
also idle temperature is around 45 always i.e when the fans r not rotating. 🙁
is it because my case is too small ??
my case sucks...
tell me whats the real problem ??

my specs:-
Fx 8350 with CM Hyper 212x
mobo:- Asus M5a99x evo r2.0
PSU:- Seasonic 520w 80+ bronze
Case:- http://www.circlect.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=274

Solution
Keep in mind the GPU is made by Nvidia, which is a GTX960, the cooling solution is either ASUS, EVGA, MSI etc. Each company does their cooling a bit differently, that's why you will see different temps on different GTX960's. So say brand A, for the sake of the example I am making, let's say ASUS, would say have a 5 blades dual fan on their GTX960 and brand B, EVGA (once again making an example) will have 12 blades single fan on their GTX960 as a example

not a single exhaust fan in my case.. in fact i have kep my case open from one side.

Then this might bring down your GPU temps, if your case does support it of course, add a exhaust fan at the back

That is not the max temp for your card. It is the max temp that was seen during those tests. That was probably in an open test bench or a case with more fans. Bottom line, there is nothing wrong with your card, though adding some fans to your case wouldn't hurt.

also i have read that different version of GTX 960 like Zotac, Asus, Gainward has different max temperatures.
and ASUS GTX 960's is around 65. and mine os going till 68-69. thats why iam worrying..

Well, its a bit too late to reply on this question but, the answer is easy. If you turn on the Vsync, the temp will be around 62-68 on Msi gtx 960, if you turn it off, it will go up to 78's, still in safe zone btw, all i wanted to say is that, the tempreture of your card's can be shared differently on each site, its all becouse of the settings they are using when they are playing a game or testing benchmark, such as Vsync as i mentioned before. Vsync off > more fps > more heat on gpu. Sorry about my english.
