So basically as the title says, I have found that the price of these two are very close so I was wondering which one I should go for, I'd like not to spend more then £180 for the card. I am open to amd graphics card but I'm having a hard time finding one that is around that price so if you have any suggestions that would be appreciated thank you

The GTX 960 is just powerful enough to make use of more than 2GB VRAM. I bought my Evga GTX 960 FTW before they released the 4GB version and kind wish I'd have waited. Go for the 4GB model. If you game at 1080p or less, you'll be able to make better use of greater textures, DoF, A-A, etc.

Thanks for the reply I'm considering the R9 380 as well because it costs the same as the 960 2GB so just deciding on it before buying it essentially

Here's some comparisons that might help you make up your mind: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1596?vs=1591
Study them carefully. There's a mix of "higher is better" and "lower is better" that can mislead you if you just quickly scan down the list.
