Gtx 960 (4gb) or r9 380x (4gb)

Hello recently I've decided to upgrade my graphics card (currently a very old gtx 650)
it served its purpose at the time but i really feel now is the time to upgrade,i decided between either the 380x or the 960,which would be the better option? Thanks in advance

Of the two, I'd have to say the 380x.... but when ever I'm asked the question, I do have to recommend that if at all possible, save up for a 970.

(Getting a used r9 290 is another option, do at your own risk)

Honestly, the 380x would perform slightly better, but please bear in mind that is consumes very high electricity-- so ensure that your PSU can actually run it...

75W more than the 960. Any 500w can run it just fine.

I'm running a 750w PSU I think that should be more then sufficient.
yes I know 750w is overkill for a 650 but I wanted to be sure i could run pretty much any card i put in my system.
