GTX 960 4Gb vs R9 280x

Hi everyone!

I plan to build a gaming pc and i can not choose between the GTX 960 4Gb and the AMD R9 280X

Please help!
( Consider all other factors except FPS and generally performance related staff irrelevant)

The 960 runs cooler, and draws less power.
The 280x runs hotter, and draws more power.

The 280x is 23% faster than the 960.

And thats about all it comes down to.

The 2 cards I believe perform very similar except the 280x uses more watts and produces more heat but can use all 3gb vram. The 960 4gb is a bit of a gimmick as it can barely use more than 2gb vram due to it limited memory bandwidth. If gaming under 1080p I would pick the 960, if 1080p I might be tempted by the 280X but I'm not a fan of AMD gpu drivers

The 280x is faster AND cheaper. Seems like a no brainer to me.
