GTX 960 and MSI Afterburner

I looking at option in msi afterburner. Can you help me understand what does Temp. limit does sliding! Default is 80C. If I slide lower what will happen?
My specs are.
I5-4590
Msi z97 PC matte motherboard
8gb ddr3
Zotac GTX 960.
Windows 10

Temp limit sounds like a cut off so your PC doesn't go over that threshold and MSI will moderate fan speeds to keep it below 80c

Use the custom fan control to keep it in check.
