HI,iam building a new Budget gaming PC and want to buy a newly released GTX 960 available for around Rs.18000 ($300) .I want to know if this GPU is good enough for gaming for the next 3 years or so on ulta high settings at a resolution of 1366*768.

Solution

Overkill can be understood as to use a powerful machine(graphics card in this case) with a machine that wont be...

get a 970 for ultra resolution on 1366*768

The 970 is an overkill for the 1366*768 and i talk through Experience.
960's the best u can get. And on a personal note I would recommend a ASUS strix or the zotac amp!

Sorry for the noob question but what exactly is overkill and is there much difference betwenn the performance of normal and amp edition

Overkill can be understood as to use a powerful machine(graphics card in this case) with a machine that wont be able to exploit its full power.
It will be like attaching an old woman with a Bugatti though she will not even go above 30 kph.

The normal zotac edition is the normal gtx 960 and the amp edition is an Oc'ed version which sports a higher clock frequency than the base card.
Also it looks beautiful
