GTX 960 FTW Bitcoin Mining

Solution
About 3 times less than you will spend on power. IE, if you were about to mine a dollar, it would cost $3 in power.

There is NO money in GPU coin mining, expect the money you will pay to your power company.

BTW, my example was an example. In today's age, you would make maybe a few cents.

Would I make more money if I had a sapphire radeon r9 280?

Or, you know, at the corner around the block...I mean, every job is worthy.

life lesson for the day:

whenever you hear everyone and their hairdresser talk about how "coin mining is huge, you can make money on it!", it's already too late. the only people who actually made money worth talking about did it long before 80% of the population even heard about bitcoin mining.

this will be true for a lot of things in life - when you hear about something great that you should invest in and you hear it from your friend's brother's wife's hairdresser or someone equally remote and basically random, then it's FAR too late.

if someone develops a chip or piece of hardware that can make money by mining coins (for example), then they won't sell it to you or anyone else until they can get more by selling it than by using it.

if i can earn more money by selling you a hammer than by using a hammer myself, i'll sell it to you (and make a profit). but if i can make more by using it, then i won't sell it to anyone.

capitalism.
