Hi guys, I’m currently own a HP envy phoenix 860-019. Here is the spec https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c04799759

The problem that I have is When I play league of legends, it’s usually Lag and I don’t know why. I did re-install the Windows 10, updated Drives....

I look for a new Pc to buy but it is too expensive, over $1500.

Should I upgrade my GPU or get the new computer?

You honestly shouldn't be getting any kind of lag on LoL with those specs, which means something else is causing this issue.

However, when you say lag, what exactly do you mean?
Can you please describe it for us.

While I personally don't think it should be the issue, it is possible that due to the 960 being a 2GB version, you could be running into a VRAM issue wherein you are maxing it out and trying to utilize more than it has.

What settings do you try to play LoL at?
What resolution and what graphic settings do you use?

As for drivers, make sure you are using the latest drivers from nvidia website.

Just filter for your card, and download the latest available drivers and install them.
Be sure to choose the option for a clean install of drivers in the installer.

Also, if you feel like it, you can install MSI Afterburner and enable the RivaTuner Statistics Server to see what utilization your CPU and GPU are at while gaming.
http://download.msi.com/uti_exe/vga/MSIAfterburnerSetup.zip

But also also, in the event that you have some certain graphic settings cranked up to max like particle effects, that will put a heavy strain on your CPU, and that could be what's causing this "lag" as you put it.

Another possibility is your internet connection.
If connecting through WiFi, stop doing that and hard line yourself with Ethernet cable.

Thanks for the answer
Below medium is the setting For Lol ( beacause of the lag)
The resolution is 1080p
You know when you’re in the combat and the fps just drop and the screen is just frozen for like 2 or 3 seconds.
My experience is like, the game is not smooth.

honestly, you shouldn't be dropping frames like that on medium or low preset for the games settings at 1080p.
It doesn't make much sense.

And you've done a clean install of windows along with drivers and such.

Did you make sure to install DirectX files?
If not, you can install the SDK which will get you everything in one package from here
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=6812

If the game is running in borderless window mode, try switching to exclusive full screen.

Make sure your power plan settings are set properly and that the system isn't forcing your CPU to run slower than it should.

How you adjust these settings can differ across machines, and build versions of Windows.
But most commonly you open control panel and go to power options.
Then on that screen where you choose power plans, select high performance.

If high performance isn't there, click the little down arrow to show additional plans and it should be hiding under that.
