A friend of mine is selling a EVGA 960 4g supersc for $100. I trust him that it works well and he has had it for 9 months. No mining. He replaced it with a 10 series card. Should I snag it. I’m putting together a build and this could save me on buying a newer GPU at the current prices. This will be my first build. Please help!

on average you would be paying ~$50+ more for not that much more performance

$100 is a good price

fair price, it is evga though so you might not get any warranty without help from your friend

I am asking him if there is still a warranty on it. Seems like something I don’t want to pass up on. Essentially it’s a slightly better 1050 to for $100 cheaper (at current prices)

1050 ti > 960 > 1050

so fair price for better than 1050 performance + 2gb of extra vram

Key features to EVGA Warranties.

Product warranty covers the product, not the user.
The warranty is available for a time period of no more than 3* years from the EVGA shipping date. So you need a printed Receipt.
Long term warranties, purchased extended warranties and EAR plans do not transfer.
Registration of the product under another user's account is possible.

So If the owner has had the Card for 9 months then you still have plenty of Warrenty left.

$100 is a good price since they go for $120 to $150 on Ebay.
