Hi, i have a pretty extensive budget but i would like to know is there any difference between the 960 and 970 and is the 980 really worth it for right now ?

With a high budget I wouldn't even look at a GTX 960 as it is a entry level GPU, I would advise to go with a 970 for 1080p and a 980 for 4k. As always I recommend to buy the best card that you can afford.

I would say Gtx 970 but try and get the Gtx 980. I got one and I'm running at 1440p and I have to say it's good but not the greatest.
What gpu do you have right now. Nvidia pascal gpu are coming in q2-3 this year , I would wait if I was you. Only reason I got the Gtx 980 is because I got it for 250 used and alway try and get one used not to waste your money

With rebates on 970's they fall pretty in line. If you want your GPU to double as a furnace for the winter I would highly recommend the R9 cards.
