GTX 960 vs HD 7970

Solution
The HD7970 is faster. AMD renamed the 7970 to the r9 280x. It also has an extra 1gb of ram which will help at larger resolutions.

Here are some benches, see for yourself: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_960_gaming_oc_review,12.html

What is your budget? There are r9 290's going for around the $250 mark and those cards are much faster and a lot more capable of running higher resolutions. They are all 4gb cards as well with 512bit memory buses. It's worth the extra $20-30 to get one of those IMO.

Solution

Alright, my budget is low, 230 euros max. I can get a secondhand 7970 for lower price thats why Im asking. Also Im limited because of my 500W PSU.

Altright, and If I overclock the 960 would it be faster, or the same as 7970?
