gtx 960 with ultrawide?

i currently have a evga gtx 960 ssc 4gb gpu.
i ran the bf1 beta on ultra 50-60 fps, but i have a shitty monitor.
i think of buying the LG 29UM68 , and i know the fps will drop.
but will the fps will drop in that much? (i would not mind going to high insted of ultra settings).
(pls dont say buy a new gpu, because i just bought the gtx 960).
so is it worth it? (the monitor is 270$ - fairly cheap).

Your 960 is going to struggle on an ultra wide. I think you'll be looking at med settings most of the time at best.


And if you "just bought the 960" could you return it?

1080p ulteawide is 30% more pixels. So, looking at 40fps at your same settings ish

It's pretty demanding....960 might struggle.

i can't return it 🙁 (i'm not that sad, at the and it is still great). so you think that i shouldn't buy this monitor? because i think that ultrawide can really be awesome ( even if the fps will drop a little)

just 1 last question - so it will be able to run in medium - high on around 40 fps? cause that good enough for me 😉

I saw 70fps ultra at 2560x1080 on beta. I think you'll see 60fps medium
