Hello guys

My System:
Amd Phenom II x6 1055t
Cooler Master Hyper 212x
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 AM3+
Kingston Hyperx Fury 4GBx2 (8Gb) 1600mhz
Antec Vp450p psu 450w
Wd Cavier Blue 1tb

I am not gonna upgrade my psu will it be enough for gtx 960?

Solution
A GTX 960 will easily run with that system config and power supply (with no overclocking). The Antec VP450 has two 12V rails with 18A a piece and a maximum of 360W combined on the 12V rails. A standard GTX 960 requires only a third of the wattage on the 12V rail (120W); the processor another third (rated at 125W). If you're not overclocking anything or only applying a slight overclock (OC), you should be just fine. Introducing any OC is hit or miss though. If you don't OC. you're all set.

I have a GTX 960 with an i3-2100 in an HTPC I just built for my man cave. Even with the weaker older 3.1GHz dual-core processor, it blows any "next-gen" game console away.

You should be fine if you dont overclock. To be safe you should configure your CPU to work at the lower vcore possible, if he's working at 1.3v . If your CPU is already working at 1.1v you should be OK even in stressful situations.

yes, it might make your system unstable if you lower it too much.

You can do it at bios. Search for how to overclock with your motherboard on google and follow those steps, but decrease the vcore instead.

Thanks everyone i have decided to buy Asus gtx 960 strix 2gb ddr5 graphic card also my psu is new so i think it can handle it for 1 yr almost then i will change my psu. Thanks everyone for your valuable help.. :)

What card was it running before?

That CPU is 125w and the GTX 960 is 120w. With 20w for everything else your power consumption is 265 watts.

If your 450w PSU is 80+ Bronze then you have 130 watts (105 at 80% efficiency) to spare. You are fine with your PSU. Enjoy your 960!

My psu is not 80+ rated but it provides upto 85% efficiency and Asus gtx 960 shows max tdp 150w but on most review site i saw it go upto 125w while 1080p ultra/high gaming.is it ok?

It sounds like Asus are overclocking that one but it still falls within your spare so you're okay.

It doesn't have 80+ bronze status because its missing a PFC circuit not because it doesn't have over 80% power usage efficiency. It says you can get away with using it for a GeForce 760 which draws 170watts on the Nvidia website. As the Asus 960 draws less than that you will be fine using the PSU.
