Hi guys,

I currently have a RX 570 Nitro+ 8GB in my PC, but I just found someone offering a GTX 970 4GB, for 110€.
Should I buy it and try to sell my RX 570 afterwards? I could probably get at least 110€ for the RX 570, since it is just about 3 month old.

My system:
FX 6300 4,3Ghz
16GB DDR3 1866Mhz
Asus m5a78l-m/usb3
750W PSU

Here are the particular models

That's what I was kind of worried about too Barty1884, especially, since my RX 570s' fans are turned off anyways, on idle, and when I'm just doing casual stuff. It is usually under 30°C when doing just internet browsing and such.
I've never had a blower style card before, but I can imagine it getting pretty loud under full load

Why do you want change to an older GEN GPU ? Keep using your current GPU. If you are on 1080p, then there shouldn't be an issue. What's the make/model number of your PSU ?? Going for the GTX 970 won't be worth an upgrade.

PSU is the 1Life ps:jet 700W

Ouch....I've never of this brand name before though. I don't think this is a QUALITY PSU model. Looks like some generic unit. I honestly won't recommend you to keep using this PSU to power up the RX 570, or any other GPU. This is not a GAMING PSU, at least in my opinion, even though it might on your rig.

Don't take any risk. Using a low-end generic PSU model can be detrimental in the long run. It might also damage other components.

I know, you told me in by very first forum thread already, but to be honest, I do not mind using cheaper PSUs. Thanks anyways

A GTX 970 is not a worthwhile upgrade over an RX 570, as they should perform about the same on average. The GTX 970 might be slightly faster in some older games, but an RX 570 will tend to be slightly faster in newer games.

Either way, the performance differences would typically be so small as to be unnoticeable, and certainly not worth switching to an older card with no warranty and a worse cooler. That would be a terrible trade.
