Hi, i want to upgrade my graphic card from gtx 660 to gtx 970 and i was wondering if my cpu can handle this card.

i play at 1080p do you think my cpu would be okay with this card for games like, say Witcher 3?

I also have a question regarding reliability ..

before i had the 660 i had a sapphire 7870 and it suffered from bsod and from what i've heard some gtx 970 has this issue.

i was planing on getting the gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming, does it have this issue?

If so whats the best problem free gtx 970? :)

Thank you

I also have the i5 4690k and I have not have any bottle necking.

To be honest, I've not heard of the GTX 970's having an issue. I know the 600 series and 700 series seemed to generate number of posts about driver crashes, which indicated an impending GPU failure, though. I'd have thought any of the major manufacturers (ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI) would have been decent, quality-wise (obviously, the GPU's all come from nVidia, so should be the same) ... depending on where you live, EVGA may offer a free warranty extension to 5 years (they were doing so in Europe last year).

It's good to know my CPU will handles this..

But still i've checked the reviews on Newegg, i read a lot of horror stories. i'm on a tight budget, if this card fails i might get a heart attack, rma business isnt easy where i live.

What do you guys recommend? which is the most reliable? and do you think there's a better alternative?
