GTX 970 build, Suggestions needed for GPU Brand, PSU, CPU cooler ect..

So i'm gonna be getting a new PC (for editing and perhaps gaming) and i'll build it myself (was totally avoiding that, but no site that builds systems ships to my location, and the ones that do, have insane shipping prices, more precisely, 600$. Yes. I know. So i'm ordering the components locally, through a shop)

First off, I'm getting the Palit's Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 JetStream edition, saw a bit of reviews over it, and it seems good and quit, not as bad as zotac, and i'm getting a good offer too. Just wanted to know, How does it compare to msi and strix editons, if it's not as good as them, how bad is it? Bad enough that shouldn't buy it at all? will it make any difference?

Secondly, will the stock cooler be okay for the i7 4790K? There's no was i'll be overclocking it, it'll be at stock clock for ever. If it's bad, then what cheap cooler would be good? I was going for Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, but i can't find one for Intel's 1150 socket.

Last, what power supply is needed? I don't wanna go for an overkill at all. will a 500 or 600 w psu be okay?


extra: motherboard: MSI Z97-G55 SLI, ram: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 2133 mhz, case: Carbide Spec-01.

My recommendations in ORDER:

1) MSI TwinFrozr V
2) Gigabyte
3) Asus Strix

*I think I remember the Palit having a COIL NOISE issue.

The MSI has a great cooler and the fans are independently controlled for noise/cooling. The Asus Strix can shut off the fans but doesn't appear to have the same overclock level (if you care as not everyone clocks to the max). I forget if Gigabyte can turn off the fans though.

The Gigabyte is 12.2" long I believe and the Asus Strix is 11" so make sure there's no case issue with length.

POWER SUPPLY:

A GTX970 system with i5 might consume just over 300Watts under full load so a quality 500W to 650W is plenty. Make sure the PSU is Haswell ("4th gen" Intel) certified. You can Google that.

CPU cooler:
The stock one can cool enough, however it will be too noisy. The EVO is a good choice and it does support the 1150 socket so don't worry about that. Proof: http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212-evo/

Make sure you have the FAN CONTROL software setup to throttle your CPU fan (and case fans if they can be controlled by the motherboard).

lol guys 600$ is the shipping price! i know @sparestuff the price is stupid, it's cuz of the place i live in (you wouldn't wanna know).

And yeah, i'll be getting the 4790K, not cuz it's unlocked or anything, it's cuz 4790 is not available for me.

And if the palit jetstream edition doesn't have any problems except the noise, i think i'll be getting that one (cuz the other versions are difficult and expensive for me to get)

Okay! so the hyper 212 evo does fit with 1150! thanks @photonboy, i'll order it right away, along with a 600w supply. Done!
