Hello, I'm Shady, and for starters, this is my build:

Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400
Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
(bla bla bla)

So, my problem is with Minecraft(wow).
I'm running SEUS shaders pack and RedCraft Smooth Realism x256 texture pack with everything at max settings. Great, I should be able to run this with ease, especially because my GPU can take a shart on Witcher 3 while I use 2 other monitors to watch Netflix and Google shit. I should be able to waltz right through Minecraft.

I slowly changed every setting there was(Optifine settings), nuked the texture pack, and I changed everything except for the shaders. Even at MC's bare minimum, shaders limited my framerate to ~40. I changed the GPU settings through the MSI afterburner and maxed all that was safe and nothing I do changes it. I doubt it's a performance issue because of how the FPS never varies based on what I change. I've posted this on other(moderately appropriate) forums, but why I have it here is if there's anything regarding my GPU or CPU(MC uses CPU quite a bit), people here might have a clue(I don't.)
(I feel like I should put more crap, so ask questions if you please...)

thingies:
-Obviously, I DID tinker with the settings
-The onboard graphics is disabled
-I closed all my background processes, monitors, etc.

MSI Afterburner:
-Power Limit: 110%(max)
-Core Clock +100
-Memory Clock +150

Well I'm not sure if this is related to your problembut I know that by default minecraft limits itself to only 1GB of ram which may be a problem with high res textures. You can manually change this by opening the launcher, selecting your desired profile, then clicking edit profile. Next, enable JVM arguments in the Java settings section and then change the first part of the text that says "-Xmx1G" to however much ram you want the game to allocate, for example, "-Xmx4G" would allow the game to use 4GB.

You also have to remember that because Minecraft is based on java, it really can't make use of a powerful gpu and is in fact quite cpu limited, so having a high end gpu does not necessarily mean you will get high fps (although it certainly helps).

Thank you, but I already have 4 gigs allocated. Also, that could be a factor, considering my CPU isn't as high tier as the GPU... Thanks.
