Today I was playing some H1Z1 and noticed that my core clock was at 540Mhz and was not changing. I was also experiencing a low framerate. The card I'm running (Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX970) has a base clock of 1375 Mhz. Is this something to do with drivers? Also, at one point while gaming, the screen turned black but then recovered.

My specs are:

Intel Core i5 4590
ASRock H97M-Pro4
Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3
Corsair CX-750M 750Watts

Any help would be appreciated.

flashing black screen normaly accompanied by a boop, boop. sound is likely the driver collapsing.
check the event logs for critical errors. if the driver is there in the list then uninstall it, run ccleaner and download a new version of the gpu drivers.

you can also check device manager to see if any drivers have a yellow ? next to them. if so install new drivers for that hardware too.

latly your psu may not be the best quality but it certainly has enough power to run that build no problem.
