[SOLVED] GTX 970 crashed checkerboard screen

Hi, I've just had a strange crash, I unplugged my phone from charging on my PC and when I did the display on my PC had white checkers all over it and then the PC turned off. Now when I turn it back on it gets past post, goes through the windows loading screen, but when I get to the login screen the checkers are back.

Any ideas where I should start for troubleshooting this? I'm assuming it's the graphics card but could be the psu

I've sorted it now, it was the PSU that died.
