My ASUS GTX 970 recently started making a gurgling noise when warmed up. I initially mistook the sound to be my HDD, but upon opening the case found the noise to be coming from one of the fans. Should I be concerned about this? The noise has progressively been getting louder.

Thank you

Definitely doesnt sound normal. Have you tried taking out the card and checking if the fan is hitting anything while turning? You can try to turn it gently with your fingers and feel if it scratches against anything.

I have spun the fan with my fingers while off and the sound did not replicate. While the fan was spinning I gently pressed the middle of the fan which eliminated the sound while my fingers made contact. I now think the fan is vibrating somehow or the bearings are shot. It does not visually appear to be hitting anything. This GPU is only 6 months old, so I'm confused at why such a thing would happen. The PC is very clean and dust free

Then it is probably something inside the actual fan that has come loose or doesn't sit right. If you still have a warranty I would suggest you try and send it back if possible.

I already replaced three Asus 970 Strix cards with this fan problem. All of the cards had this fan noise sooner or later. The last card was fine for almost 8 months but started make a noise recently. In my case, all fans did not hit anything, it was a bearings issue. I just gave up on Asus.

For now, i fixed it by taking off the red sticker on top of the fan and dropped motor oil into three small holes under the sticker. I did three drops in each hole and pushed oil inside with a needle and cleaned top of the fan with alcohol. So far, i do not have a noise anymore. If you will do that, you probably will not be able to put the sticker back using its original glue and theoretically, it may affect your warranty.
